A special meeting, budget workshop, of the Village Board was held March 14, 2012 at 6:00 PM in the Village Hall, 244 Main Street.

Mayor Winslow called the meeting to order.

Roll Call: Trustee Densmore, Trustee Enekes, and Trustee Lescault were present.  Trustee Denno was excused.

Also Present: First Assistant Fire Chief Kevin Granger, Supt Lozier and Clerk-Treas Colson were present.

The Board extensively discussed proposed expenditures for the 2012/2013 budget.  Overall, budget spending is proposed to increase by slightly less that 3%.  The projected tax rate for 2012/2013 will be $5.49 per thousand, one cent less than last year.

Major purchases in this budget include the purchase of a pre-owned dive van for the fire department for $30,000; the old dive van will be transferred to the water department to be used as a service van.  The DPW equipment purchases include the purchase of two new 1-ton pick-up trucks with side dumps and plows to replace two aging trucks.  In the sewer fund, a replacement trickling filter will cost approximately $100,000.  $61,635 will be expended from the sewer fund balance to help offset this cost.

Motion by Trustee Lescault, seconded by Trustee Enekes that Board adjourn, 7:45 PM.
